LightSpeed™ R55
The LightSpeed™ R55 is our latest long-distance Free Space Optical communication device and is based on our fifth generation LightSpeed™ core. Eye-safe IR source (Class 1) lasers allow for a non-visible communication link between units at extended ranges (1-13km). The R55 acts as an Ethernet cable linking any electronics connected (Type I physical layer device) via a standard Ethernet connection. In situations where a hardwire connection is unavailable or undesirable, the R55 is a perfect alternative to cables.
Using the supplied headsets, the R55 provides full-duplex voice communication.
